The difference we’re building for: spending time inside the world
A shared pet can be a quick check-in, or it can be the centre of an evening. Little Together is being designed around the second possibility: care for your companion at home, wander into its garden, and choose a moment to keep. The pet is the reason to enter a place, rather than simply another item to check.
Imagine being on a call after dinner. One partner suggests what the pet should do, the other gives a saved moment its title, and the conversation carries on around the activity. That is our proposed couples experience. Real remote sharing is still in development; the current prototype cannot deliver that scenario across two devices.
Shared care is a real overlap, not a feature we can claim to own
Widgetable’s developer listing describes raising pets together and a Co-Care mode. A fair comparison cannot call shared pet care unique to Little Together.
Our proposed distinction is the overall evening: care, a home and garden, and intentional capture gathered into one pet-world experience. Whether that feels more enjoyable will need real use and testing. We have not run a head-to-head comparison or shown that people prefer our game.
Where our approach could be the better fit
If you want a little “us” place to visit together, our direction is designed for that use. A pet name becomes an inside joke. A corner of the garden becomes familiar. A saved memory has a title you chose as a pair. The value we’re aiming for is a shared activity with some continuity, rather than a promise about how often you should open an app.
Our prototype also explores several animal species and direct care actions such as grooming and rest. These are parts of our own development, not claims that competing apps lack them. The final pet roster, behaviour, and shared features may change before release.
Where Widgetable is a stronger choice today
Availability matters. Widgetable is a product you can evaluate now; Little Together remains a project you can follow. If your requirement is “we want to co-care for a virtual pet tonight,” our coming-soon status is a decisive limit.
Widgetable also documents social widgets. If screen-level connection is the experience you want, check its official listing and current platform support. We are not announcing equivalent widget, location, or status-sharing features for Little Together.
A useful way to decide
Write down the moment you want the app to fit: a short check-in between messages, a game while you talk, or quiet solo time. Then check which product actually provides that experience today.
For Little Together, treat the interactive illustrations as a view of the plan. Before launch, look for confirmed remote sharing, invitation controls, costs, account deletion, and a working download. For any available app, check the same practical details in its current official documentation rather than assuming every pictured feature is included.
